About the Course
In honour of International Women’s Day and 'Dantedì' ('Dante Day') both taking place in March, this 3-hour intensive workshop will focus on female characters in the Divine Comedy. The workshop will provide the opportunity for Dante students to delve deeply into two key areas of the Divine Comedy which raise questions around the presentation and agency of women in this 700-year-old text. The session will also touch on modern scholarship regarding female readers, translators, and interpreters of Dante. This course is open to previous students of the tutor's six-week beginner and/or intermediate Dante courses. Students should aim to bring a device which they can use to access online scholarship during the workshop. Please note this course is not eligible for any concessionary rates.
